Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" (2010)

(Note: This post should only be read by the Film-Dork in YOU!)

You may know this famed director from such cinematic greats, Edward Scissorhands (1990), The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), or Batman Forever (1995) to name only a few. I was delightfully surprised to learn that my beloved childhood Disney fav Alice in Wonderland was going to be directed by Mr. Tim Burton himself. Now I can enjoy this film as an adult too!

Distributed by Walt Disney Pictures, this remake will feature a combination of live-action, animation, stop motion, and performance capture technology similar to that used for "Beowulf" all in 3-D! (so excited!) . This will be the first that a movie will include all three features.

Not to mention the all-star cast that includes, polish actress Mia Wasikowska as Alice Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter (kind of perfect casting), Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, Helena Bonham-Carter as the Red Queen, Michael Sheen as Chesire Cat, and many others...

As Burton says,
"I've always liked Lewis Carroll's imagery (author of novel). It's so politically incorrect too, isn't it? Y'know, a bottle of something that says 'Drink Me' and the mushrooms..."
With this said, expect this new version to be a bit darker, deeper, and much more twisted than you've seen and know of Alice's tale.
