MELANIE FIONA “The Bridge” unveiled at Harlem Restaurant

Last night many of Toronto’s industry taste-makers gathered at Harlem Restaurant to take in a special listening session for T-dot’s own Melanie Fiona. Unveiling a number of select tracks from her upcoming debut album ‘The Bridge’, Melanie threw down an impromptu live and interactive performance providing insight to the collective mood, variety and contributions throughout the record. Starting out the night singing her smash hit ‘Give It To Me Right’ her performance and song selection didn’t disappoint from that point. Track after track offered more gems and justified the anticipation and glowing support that many have showered on this soon to be pop star - including the renowned glowing endorsement received from Kanye West himself. Perfectly fusing Rock, Soul and Contemporary R&B – Melanie showcased a flawless album with an international feel highlighted by a reggae-flavoured tune ‘AyYo’ which allowed Melanie to flaunt her ability to move a crowd. Hands were in the air after the pop-hit warmed up the audience and the heads didn’t stop nodding till well after the last ballad trailed off.

With a stellar collection of industry heavy-weight producers and song writers, there is no doubt that from start to finish, the debut LP “The Bridge” will engage a whole new audience of music lovers with its release in the Spring/Summer of ’09.

Keep your eyes fixed on this rising star, as there is no question her Cinderella Story to stardom is just beginning. You go girl… rep T-Dot hard – we got you!
