Confirmed!: Chris Brown Returning To The Stage For BET Awards

“Michael Jackson is the reason why I do music and why I am an entertainer,” Chris said to Access in a statement earlier this week. “I am devastated by this great loss, and I will continue to be humbled and inspired by his legacy. My prayers are with his family. Michael will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. He’s the greatest… the best ever. No one will ever be better.”

As per Access Hollywood, Chris Brown will be making his return the the stage this Sunday at the BET Awards as one of the many artist that will pay tribute to Michael Jackson. The news comes after last Monday when Chris plead guilty to assault as part of a plea deal reached with prosecutors to avoid any jail time. There will be a lot of mixed reactions to Chris Brown's 1st public performance on BET, several months after the alleged assault on fellow superstar and former girlfriend Rihanna, but here are my thoughts: When Micheal passed most of us agreed that MJ should not be remembered for the controversy that surrounded him, but for legacy that is his music. So why is it that we do not want to let Chris Brown move on with his life? I am not condoning anything that Chris may have done, but he is a 19 year old kid that made a BIG mistake! People, Chris Brown is not going anywhere weather you like it or not. And besides Micheal would have wanted us to forgive CB. I will go as far as to say that Micheal would have personally wanted Chris to perform any tribute pertaining to himself. It's hard to find a performer out now that has not been influenced by MJ, but in Chris Brown it is the most apparent. Chris is eventually going to make his comeback, so why not start with a performance that pays tribute to a man that tried to bring the world together through his music?
