K’Naan - "Dayless Nite"

In today's music industry, it is rare that you find an artist who has something to say about social issues around in the world; much less one who is not afraid to speak out about it. This is why I have ultimate respect for Canadian-based, Somalian-born poet K'Naan. In this remake of KiD CuDi’s smash hit “Day N Nite”, K'Naan addresses the piracy occurring right now off the coast of Somalia. The media is covering the events from one perspective, but I think we need to take a closer look at the conditions causing Somalians to become pirates.

Somalia Stand up!

Yes K'Naan, always speaking the truth. Something the industry is definitely lacking.

Good piece.
